
MEET JAMIE BOYLE
JAMIE’S JOURNEY INTO HEALTH, FITNESS AND PERFORMANCE BEGAN THROUGH SPORT FROM AN EARLY AGE. HAVING PLAYED FOOTBALL SINCE THE AGE OF FOUR AND REPRESENTING BURTON ALBION FROM TEN TO FIFTEEN, JAMIE DEVELOPED A DEEP PASSION FOR ATHLETIC DEVELOPMENT. HOWEVER, SUFFERING TWO ACL TEARS DURING HIS TEENAGE YEARS CHANGED THE DIRECTION OF HIS ASPIRATIONS. THESE SETBACKS INTRODUCED HIM TO THE WORLD OF STRENGTH TRAINING, RECOVERY AND REHABILITATION, AREAS HE QUICKLY BECAME FASCINATED BY. AFTER BEGINNING GYM TRAINING AT SEVENTEEN, JAMIE BECAME COMMITTED TO UNDERSTANDING HOW THE BODY ADAPTS, PROGRESSES AND OVERCOMES INJURY.
THIS CURIOSITY LED JAMIE TO PURSUE ACADEMICS ALONGSIDE PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE. HE STUDIED A-LEVELS IN PSYCHOLOGY AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION BEFORE COMPLETING HIS DEGREE IN SPORTS AND EXERCISE SCIENCE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF BIRMINGHAM. OUTSIDE OF FORMAL EDUCATION, HE HAS WATCHED HUNDREDS OF TRAINING AND PSYCHOLOGY LECTURES, CONTINUALLY EXPANDING HIS KNOWLEDGE BASE AND REINFORCING HIS EVIDENCE-BASED APPROACH TO COACHING. WITH SIX YEARS OF CONSISTENT TRAINING EXPERIENCE, INCLUDING UNDERTAKING TWO TRIAL BODYBUILDING PREPS, JAMIE HAS DEVELOPED A STRONG UNDERSTANDING OF MUSCLE BUILDING, FAT LOSS AND THE SCIENTIFIC PRINCIPLES THAT DRIVE EFFECTIVE PROGRAMMING.

JAMIE BECAME A COACH BECAUSE TRAINING HAS BEEN THE FOUNDATION OF HIS OWN LIFE, FROM NAVIGATING INJURY, TO REBUILDING STRENGTH, TO PUSHING HIS PHYSIQUE DEVELOPMENT. HE WANTED TO USE THE KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE HE HAS GAINED TO HELP OTHERS TRANSFORM THEIR HEALTH, CONFIDENCE AND OVERALL WELL-BEING. NOW WORKING AS A PERSONAL TRAINER AT ATHENA PERFORMANCE, JAMIE APPLIES RESEARCH-DRIVEN METHODS, STRUCTURED PROGRAMMING AND A CLIENT-CENTRED APPROACH TO DELIVER SUSTAINABLE RESULTS.

JAMIE HAS ALREADY SUPPORTED CLIENTS OF ALL AGES IN ACHIEVING FAT LOSS, PHYSIQUE IMPROVEMENTS AND STRENGTH DEVELOPMENT. HE BELIEVES THAT WHILE INDIVIDUAL NEEDS MAY VARY, THE CORE SCIENTIFIC PRINCIPLES OF TRAINING, RECOVERY AND PROGRESSION REMAIN THE SAME FOR EVERYONE. HIS AIM IS TO MAKE THESE PRINCIPLES ACCESSIBLE, SIMPLE AND EFFECTIVE FOR EVERYDAY PEOPLE WANTING TO IMPROVE THEIR LIVES.
